Eric K. Peterson, CFP®
Independent Financial Advisor
eric@petersonwealthadvisors.com
Eric is an independent financial advisor serving Southwest Missouri since 1985. He has specialized in comprehensive financial planning and wealth management by working with individuals to design personalized retirement planning, tax-efficient investment strategies, estate planning, and insurance planning. In his commitment to assisting people in their transition from corporate life to "re-wirement," Eric has also worked with many local companies and institutions helping them evaluate their retirement options.
Eric obtained his professional designation as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado, in 1992 and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Augustana College in 1983. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1974.
Eric specializes in comprehensive financial planning, and works with individuals by designing personalized retirement programs, tax-advantaged investment strategies, insurance planning, and estate planning. One of Eric’s main points of focus is asset management for both pre- and post-retirement. He has developed a successful research process using the Morningstar Advisor Workstation which he has used since 1991.
By helping people transition from corporate life to retirement, Eric has worked for the past four decades with many local companies and institutions in the development, management, and evaluation of their retirement plans. An often sought after speaker on issues surrounding retirement, Eric provides advice on retirement planning and provides specific advice concerning retirement plan rollovers to individuals, companies, and in his many workshops and seminars.
“I offer balanced financial planning, using a personalized one-to-one approach to help my clients pursue their financial and life goals. We grow together by building long-term relationships in exactly this fashion, one at a time. My staff and I look forward to helping you crystallize your financial goals and help you make informed financial decisions.”
An avid sailor, Eric is involved with the promotion of outdoor activities for those with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges. He has served on the Board of a number of organizations focused on the needs of special populations. A lasting memory is when he recently taught a blind woman to sail by “listening to the wind in her ears.” The installation of a “totally accessible dock” facilitates safe participation in kayaking, canoeing, and sailing for those with disabilities.
